About Mike McManamen
An educator and educational consultant in Laramie, Wyoming, committed to public education and to the academic, emotional and social growth of students and teachers.

Experience
Mike has taught sixth-grade geography, high-school world geography and history, and computer courses. He has served as an instructional facilitator at Laramie High School and has taught courses for educators on feedback, professional learning communities and Canvas. In Goshen County Schools he worked as a PLC coordinator and teacher coach, and as the district technology facilitator.
His work includes PLC implementation, Tier 1 instructional coaching, curriculum alignment, mentoring teachers, supporting literacy standards and assessment development, helping design secondary professional learning communities and a new-teacher induction program, and designing technology instruction for more than 200 certified and non-certified staff members.
As a consultant he has worked with curriculum directors, principals and teachers in Albany County School District #1, Laramie County School District #1 and Carbon County School District #1 in Rawlins.
Approach
Start with clear learning goals and a close look at student thinking. A correct answer is useful, but drawings, explanations and examples help teachers understand how a student reached it.
Then choose a practical next step: ask a clarifying question, reteach, provide focused practice or extend the learning. Teacher judgment stays central, and collaboration stays focused on what student work shows.
